Luis Bosoms is Grupo Plan’s Founder and President. He provides the overall strategic direction and leadership to the Group, as well as the creative vision behind the projects.
Grupo Plan is one of Mexico’s leading firms in the development of luxury resorts, residential communities, and boutique and city hotels. It was founded in 1993 and has more than 30 developed projects to date. Grupo Plan’s portfolio includes mega developments such as “El Tamarindo” and “Costa Careyes” in the Mexican Pacific Coast, and “Cancun Bay Resort” and “The Haciendas” in the Yucatan Peninsula, among others. Notable boutique hotels in the portafolio includes, among others, “The Tamarindo Golf Resort”, “The Careyes Beach Resort”, “Hacienda Temozon”, “Hacienda San Jose”, “Hacienda Santa Rosa”, “Hacienda Uayamon”, and “Hotel Puerta Campeche” all under the Luxury Collection Brand by Marriott. In terms of city hotels, Grupo Plan created the “W Mexico City”, “J.W. Marriott Polanco” and “Marriott Mexico City airport”, as well as “aloft Americas”, “aloft Punto Sur”,”aloft Celaya”, “aloft Ciudad del Carmen”, “aloft San Luis Potosi” and “Sheraton Queretaro” across Mexico. Grupo Plan is a vertically integrated organization which also encompasses Plan Arquitectos. Grupo Plan is responsible for the creation, conceptualization, financing, and execution of the projects while Plan Architectos provides the architectural and creative development. Luis is the lead design architect of Plan Arquitectos.
Luis Bosoms has been recognized as a dynamic and innovative leader inspiring new concepts and products with immediate appeal and recognition. He as been presented with numeros awards including the Gold Key Award for Excellence in Hospitality under “Best Hotel Design Worldwide” awarded by the Hotel/Motel and Restaurant Association of America. The Best Interiors of 2004 presented by the Association of Interior Design (AMDI) for the W Mexico City. As well as the prestigious Best New Hotels of the World by Condenast Traveler Magazine awarded three times, one each for Hacienda San José, Hacienda Uayamon, and the W Hotel Mexico City. Additionally, the hotels have received much media attention and recognition including the covers of Architectural Digest, and Condenast Travel among others.
Luis also sits on several philatropic boards. He cofounded “Fundacion Haciendas del Mundo Maya”, an organization that works on the social, human, and economic development of rural mayan communities across the Yucatan Peninsula. Through a holistic program they work across the areas of health, education, social enterprises, and physical infrastructure to promote an integral and sustainable developmet. He is also co-founded “Fundacion Costa del Pacifico” which spearheads many conservation and ecological projects.
Luis was born and grew up in Mexico City. He has a Bachelor of Architecture degree from the Universidad Anahuac de Mexico, and holds the title of “Licenciado en Arquitectura” from the National University of Mexico. He also has attended postgraduate programs including INSEAD’s AMP in Fontainbleau, France. He is an active participant in many real estate panels both in Mexico and the US.
Luis and his wife Marilu reside in Mexico City and have three children.
